Bite Size Goodness

For Dinner I tried something new!  Taco bites.  Just using Wonton wrap as the base, and putting them
in our mini cupcake pan to bake, we turned regular taco's into a fun appetizer dinner! We crumbled up a little tortilla chip on top of the refried beans and taco meat to give it the salty crunch and it was great!

This probably would be neat to bring to an event too, but I'm not sure how to do it with the hot cold items.  It could get a little time consuming
                                                                            Yum!

My Funny Jake

***While driving in the car the other day I noticed Jake in the passenger seat, inspecting his face in the visor mirror and PLUCKING hairs off his chin. Pulling them OUT, one by one. I said "JAKE! If you have hair growing on your face, that is normal guy stuff, but you can shave it off. Dad will show you how!"
Jake looks at me in horror, and says "Oh no, I've decided I'm never going to shave, I will pluck all my hair off my face."
This coversation went no where I can tell you as I tried to explain to him what a bad idea that was, and how normal it was for guys his age to start shaving, and OMG....what is wrong with my kid!!! LOL!!!!

***Jake just got rubber bands put on his braces. It is like watching a dog that has a collar strap caught over his mouth. He keeps opening his mouth as big as he can to try to make it snap to break. He says he doesn't want to be constrained.
{{dryly said}} Nope...you can't constrain him. sigh

***At the chiropractor, part of Jakes's therapy is to have electrical currents flow into his muscles? or nerves...idk, but he lays there with a hot pad and they have these things massage him if you will. His body responds to it at some points by involuntarily moving, like...his shoulders will move or twitch on their own. This in turn makes Jake laugh. It is so funny to watch Jake lay there, face down breaking out in laughter for no reason it seems. I sit in the chair beside him and laugh myself at him! lol!

Everytime, Britney Spears

Notice me, take my hand
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me

Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry

At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

On Summer-Time

As I paused from cooking dinner and getting ready to run out the door, yet again, I checked on my sweet daughter. Reading to her captive audience.

Yeah. She has it all in perspective :)

My Heart Soared

Tonight as I pulled out of the subdivision, up rising out of the horizon of trees was the most amazing moon I think I have ever seen. I can honestly say I took a quick gasp of breath in of awe. I don't know if I've ever naturally done that before! It was the largest circle of bold orange shining in the darkness in a way that was almost unbelievable. It made me want to turn my car around to get my camera!

I didn't, and when I got home it had rised higher and turned whiter, and what I captured wasn't near the beauty of earlier, but it was just simply an amazing moon.

As Summer and I drove I pointed it out to her, and she said "why is the moon like that?" "I don't know" I said, and we drove on in silence. But then, her little 5 year mind blurted out what made this Mama heart soar. She said "I know! It is special because of Jesus! Today he died, but it is a special Easter moon!"

This was extra special because as we colored eggs last night, she was floored to try to grasp the concept that Jesus had died, and the Easter story. I broke it down as simple as I could, but Oh how Christmas is so much easier. All day I have had to reemphasize that No Jesus didn't die TODAY today and whydidIgetmyselfintothiswithher!, and we would die but go to heaven one day, and ohmygosh fielding death questions with a 5 year old was NOT where I was trying to go with teachings of Easter. I just wanted it not to be all about the bunny and candy.

LOL...anyways, it was a beautiful moment with a beautiful moon, and my beautiful daughter who was one step closer to understanding the gifts of God. #momentofpeace :)
