My Week of W's

WONDER~ How many cats is too many cats??

If you have asked yourself this question (pertaining to inside cats) I have the answer!!!

Four.

Wanna know how I know???

I have four cats. It is too many. I have had three. I think that is the max. We have one for each of the kids, so we are a keeping them, AND my husband is still staying married to me, BUT if you were ever curious....THAT is the magic number;)

WOO-HOO~ Yesterday was Mike's Dad's Birthday! (can you see the resemblance?!?! LOL) Here he is holding his youngest grandbaby.

WISH~ I wish it was time for the kids to go back to school already, but not time for the early mornings and homework. I still want to sleep in each day and not catch 3 separate buses, and I still want to have evening free and have no homework in site. BUT my children need to go now. Please, please...take them!!

WEAKNESS~Summer's visit to see 2 day old baby chicks....

I couldn't post just one...

okay or just two....

Oh just forget it! I'm so in love with my own adorable kid it's crazy;)

WEIRD~ (but really sweet and cute)

The boys would actually climb into the incubator like cage and get inside with the babies. There were sixteen of them and they would let them chirp and hop all over their face.

WARRIORS~ Football started this week and it is Jake's 2nd year. He is loving it. All he can say it "bring it on!!"

Summer the helper

The time had come for my grandma ( my mom's mom) to be moved from assisted living to the real deal in nursing homes. It was a sensitive topic, and one that needed to be done, but dreaded all the same.

The facility she is in, the move luckily just meant a move to a different wing. But I'm sure to grandma, it might as well felt like a complete uprooting.

The approach that was decided upon, because of her worry, old age, and forgetfulness, would be to tell her after she was all settled into her new place. My mom was overwhelmed with all the doing of such and switching over a much larger room into such a smaller space. The dilemma was how to keep grandma busy, and out of witnessing what could be an upsetting thing.

In to the picture comes the one shining light of grandmas eye.

Summer!

As Mom put it best, I was just the driver, LOL. When we walked in I was barely acknowledged (who knows if she even knew who I was or even cared;) She exclaimed "there is that precious little girl" and immediately tried to pick her up! (she always tries to do this! I always drop my bags and scoop up Summer's weight and try to help her "pick her up", lol)

They had a very busy time of blowing bubbles. Grandma was sooo sticky by the end it was ridiculous. I think she would jump rope if that baby asked her too!

Summer waggeled her tail, and did a little dance.

She made all her animal sounds for her.

They watched the birds.

Then the family came and explained to grandma about her new room, and where she would now be staying.

I think Summer helped bridge that hard gap a little today. It sure is hard getting older. They looked out at grandma's new view and let it soak in some.

And smelled her plastic violets.

Summer say they "smell good" :)

Hazel Marie 1924-2009

Sixty Four years ago, Mike's grandma was heavy with baby and days away from delievering her firstborn child~ Mike's dad. What thoughts and dreams and expectations were going through her head at that time? How different times were then compared to now. How much her eyes have seen and her heart has felt.

Now as that date approaches again years later, Mike's sweet grandma has left us to be with the Lord. She no longer is with us on earth.

Mike always had wonderful memories of his grandma! He and his cousins spent holidays all together at her house. He said it just tickeled her pink to have all the family over and together. That that is what she liked the best.

We love you Grandma!~

Tatum Photo Overload

Tatum's best friend Danielle came over the other night and the girls decided to get Tatum's account set up on facebook. This is something she has been wanting to do for a very long time, but it took a long time to get our good graces to allow her to do so, and then her laptop gave her trouble with not working right. So finally, she had a chance, a friend, permission, and a working computer! The stars were aligned!
Now that I have my super cool freaking new camera, I offered to help take her picture for her facebook page.

Photoshoot!!!

Needless to say, we had alot of fun. And maybe got a shot or two.
I can't believe this beauty is mine. And that she is going to be 16!!
Wahhhh!!
